Job Description

The Transportation Safety Compliance Business Partner acts as the primary point of contact for assigned operating groups on compliance requirements and transportation‑related risks. This role provides practical guidance on regulatory obligations and supports the consistent application of Ledcor's Compliance Program through scheduled audits, site inspections, and training.

The position also plays a key role in the ongoing development and continuous improvement of Ledcor's NSC and DOT Compliance Programs, including internal procedures, training materials, and supporting resources.

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop, administer, and continuously improve Ledcor's NSC and DOT Compliance Programs, including compliance manuals, CMS procedures, SharePoint resources, Workday training, bi‑monthly compliance forums, and quarterly compliance communications
Ensure programs reflect current legislation, industry trends, and corporate initiatives
Conduct Annual Corporate compliance audits, as well as additional audits as per request
Conduct follow-up on site inspections comparable to on-road enforcement officers – correct observed unsafe working conditions immediately
Review all findings from audits and site inspections, as well as collaborate, support, and advise on action items for risk mitigation
Conduct follow-up meetings and site visits to ensure controls have been successfully implemented
Create Audit Review presentations
Review all findings from audits and assist in site inspections
Collaborate, advise, support, and respond to all inquiries from leadership and employees on compliance matters
Develop and deliver in-classroom training as requested
Represent Ledcor and attend conferences with organizations such as the BC Trucking Association (BCTA), Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA), Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA), Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), and the Federal Motor carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)

Qualifications:

3+ years working knowledge of NSC and DOT requirements across North America while working in a similar role
Experience and comfortability engaging and speaking to large groups
Successfully build rapport and working relationships with field operations
Leverage business acumen and innate curiosity to identify gaps and opportunities, and deliver messages (e.g. lessons learned) in a clear and compelling manner
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, JD Edwards, and Workday
Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills, with ability to successfully collaborate with internal and external clients
Demonstrated ability to work independently, research and solve problems
Ability to work efficiently in a high demand, team oriented, and fast-paced environment
Flexible with the ability to adapt to the changing needs to the organization
Task-oriented with an excellent sense of priority, logic and objectivity; highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities
