Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Film Campaign Director, Marketing & Distribution is responsible for managing the operational execution and delivery of LAIKA's awards season marketing and industry campaigns in close coordination with internal stakeholders and LAIKA's external partners.

This role serves as the central operational integrator across LAIKA's internal teams (marketing, creative, publicity, distribution, business development) and external partners, ensuring consistent strategy, creative alignment, and execution across domestic and international media agency partners.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Operations Officer (CMO/COO) and working in close partnership with the US and UK-based publicists, this position ensures awards campaigns are delivered on schedule, on budget, and in full creative and operational alignment across US and international theatrical markets.

This will be a temporary 9-month position.

CAMPAIGN & PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Serve as the operational lead for the awards season marketing initiatives, overseeing project plans, milestone tracking, and delivery timelines across LAIKA and its external partners.
Provide weekly reporting on campaign progress, risks, and mitigations to the CMO/COO as well as operational oversight for day-to-day escalations and troubleshooting of creative development and production issues.
Manage alignment across marketing, creative, digital, publicity, distribution, media, and external partners to ensure coordinated domestic and international execution and course correct as necessary.
Facilitate regular campaign status meetings including internal and external collaborators to ensure all cross-functional deliverables are on track with responsibilities and timelines clearly agreed across stakeholders.
Oversee coordination and ensure optimal execution of premieres, special screenings, festivals, and exhibitor activations in close partnership with publicity, events, distribution partners, and any other external collaborators.
Drive workflow excellence by refining and revising best practices for core campaign workflows and ensuring team members (both internal and external) are effectively onboarded to new tooling updates and platforms.

CREATIVE OPERATIONS & ASSET MANAGEMENT

Contribute as a curious creative and strategic thought partner to cross-functional awards marketing teams (media, social, creative), proactively bringing forward ideas, helping shape campaign concepts and execution, including providing strategic guidance for driving effective creative iteration, campaign cohesion, and operational efficiency.
Oversee the finishing and trafficking of complex awards marketing deliverables, including online/offline AV, key art, print, digital, and social creative assets.
Partner with the creative marketing and digital teams to maintain brand and narrative integrity across all asset types.
Maintain centralized visibility into global asset usage and version control across partners.

MEDIA, BUDGET & FINANCIAL COORDINATION

Partner with the CMO/COO, media agency, and finance team to manage paid media budgets, approvals, and reconciliations.
Ensure financial reporting accuracy and alignment with campaign objectives.
Support forecasting, POs, and reconciliation cycles tied to awards campaign budgets.

DATA, ANALYTICS & REPORTING

Collect and synthesize performance data from partner agencies, distribution partners, exhibitors, promotional partners, and digital channels.
Provide actionable insights and post-mortem reports to inform future campaigns.
Collaborate with digital and insights teams to refine KPI dashboards and campaign performance tracking.

QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years' experience supporting theatrical marketing and awards season campaigns, preferably across domestic and international markets.
Exceptional project management, scheduling, and prioritization skills.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing marketing budgets.
Expert level user of project management and asset-tracking software, databases, and campaign analytics tools.
Calm, solution-oriented approach under pressure; thrives in high-volume release environments.
Deep familiarity with LAIKA's storytelling craft, brand ethos, and audience experience.
